  • Access Team

    New to DRLD this year is the Access Team. The Access Team is an opportunity for self-advocates to take a leadership role on March 13th. This team will receive additional training to assist other participants throughout the day, meet with elected officials and serve as ambassadors the day of the event.

    A few reminders about this position:

    Position reserved for self-advocates

    Must complete an application by February 2nd

    Must be able to attend in-person on Wednesday, March 13th

    Required to participate in one virtual training before the event

  • Rally Speakers

    DRLD has become known for the powerful rally to kick-off the day. Each year, dynamic speakers are selected to share their experiences and encourage the crowd to break down barriers. Speakers can be self-advocates, family members or allies

    Must complete an application by February 2nd

    Must be able to attend in-person on Wednesday, March 13th

    Required to participate in one virtual training on February 7th

    Will speak for 2-3 minutes

    Must be comfortable speaking in front of a large crowd

    The Ambassador series is an opportunity to receive a comprehensive overview of each of the foundational principles of the Charting the LifeCourse Framework and its accompanying decision-making and planning tools.

    Rare Disease Legislative Advocates (RDLA) is a program of the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases designed to support the advocacy of all rare disease patients and organizations. RDLA believes that every voice matters and that patients are the key to changing public policy.
