Frustrations

As this transition from college to home has been difficult. I was looking into programs like SSI,SSDI and Medicaid to help with expenses for various things. I’m absolutely sickened by the qualifications and the expectations of living for disabled individuals if they are under any of these programs. Why does no one talk about this, I can’t be the only one thinking it’s absurd. The problem with any of these programs is to qualify I have to be not working /not working a certain amount of hours/ be permanently or temporarily not able to work / or not make a certain a amount a month which let me tell you it’s VERY low. I mean there maybe other ways around it but to qualify as “being disabled” (yes that’s the verbiage that was used) that’s what it is. Apparently according to SSI and Medicaid I’m not disabled. If I wanted to work and be on any of the programs I have to get a "ticket to work" so apparently disabled people aren't supposed to work. This world was not made for disabled individuals, nor does the system care what happens to us. I’m not saying any of this to gain pity but I want others to be aware of the madness individuals with disabilities deal with but shouldn’t have to.

Here are the resources I found to back all this up:
